Having lived in Devon since 2016 I read with disappointment the parking situation at Instow Sandhills Car park. Once again it has been taken over by a company that makes it's money from parking charge notices (PCN) these are quite often £60 fines for not obeying the rules set by the parking company

I right this blog because of the crazy rules that have been applied to this car park.
Here's the problem
From the moment you leave the council owned highway into the private road your registration number is immediately recorded (the clock is now ticking) When you leave it records your number plate again. It is this time that is noted, not the time you get your ticket and leave your space.
The problem is if you turn in and cannot find a space or spend more than 10 minutes in the car park looking for change, a space or get caught in the narrow drive to the car park you are NOW in breach of the parking rules and for that you will get an instant £60 fine.

As soon as you turn in your number plate is recorded, If you stop at the cafe and your food takes more than 10 minutes you will get a £60 parking charge notice
This blog is to warn you not to visit or park in Sandhills car park in Instow. It is run by crooks. The sign that tells you that you get 10 minutes grace is at the entrance of the drive to the car park, you can't stop there to read the sign.
If you drive into the car park and decide not to park in Sandhills, but you end up getting caught in the traffic to get back out onto the main road, you have probably already got a £60 fine and don't even know it. You spent more than 10 minutes getting in and out of the car park.
So many innocent motorists have been caught, many of these motorist are tourists visiting and spending money in our lovely Devon Village Instow, will they return, well their feedback says no.
